THE PLOT:
The Guyver is back, kicking ass and taking names. Killing Drug Pushers like so many flies. But this makes Sean feel like
a cold blooded killer, that the Guyver is turning him into a worse monster then any Zoanoid.
After a pain break up, Sean learns of a dig that may answer the growing questions he has about the Guyver and his fate
on this world. But what Sean doesn't realize that the Cronos Corporation is a global company and the dig is funded by the
Cronos Corp and that the dig is crawling with Zoanoids digging up an ancient ship in order to find a second Guyver unit.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
Here we go, I just reviewed the first movie not to long ago and here I am on the sequel. What's with the "Dark Hero"
kick? I mean Wolverine kills bad people and they don't call him a dark hero. This whole dark thing doesn't sound right to
me. The Japanese Guyver never worried about killing bad people or is he turning into a monster. That's the whole American
thing about killing is wrong, even to save your own butt and that's just crazy talk. But enough about that, let's see what
else. Ah, the script follows close to the script of the anime, like the first movie. The broken Guyver unit situation is cool.
It's basically a good movie, besides the whole "dark hero" thing. 9 STARS!
VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I agree with Zedd on this one. However, I for a party of one would have like to learned more about the aliens. Were they
good people or bad. What we did learn leads me to believe bad people. Plus seeing them would have been nice. But that's
just small. 9 STARS as well.
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ CREATURE DESIGNS (Even better then the first movie.)
+ STORY (Works for the most part.)
+ CAST (The cast does a good job.)
+ DIALOG (There is some cool dialog in this one.)
+ ACTION (Plenty of action and great stunts.)
+ EFFECTS (The CG is pretty impressive.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- DARK HERO (Just because he kills bad people and monsters don't make him a bad guy.)
- ALIENS (VOLTRON would have liked to seen more of the aliens.)
- NO ORIGINAL CAST (Why couldn't they get the original cast? It was only three years later.)
...AND FINALLY...
- FAN BASED (If you aren't a fan of the manga, the anime TV show or the first movie. Then I doubt you'd like this movie.)
